The Great Wall of China is one of the 7 wonders of the world and is the most recognized landmark in all of China. It was originally built to protect China from hostile enemies, mostly Mongolians, around 2,500 years ago. Most of the original wall still stands today and can be seen from space with the help of a telescope.
